Thank you for your email. I am the DOR contact for this tax. In order to start the process, I will need a copy of the resolution and ordinance. You are welcome to send me copies by email.
If I receive the information before the end of month, the tax will be effective July 1, 2020. If the tax was effective July 2020, the first full distribution of funds would be in September
2020.

Our City Council passed an ordinance last night to impose the sales tax credit for homeless needs as set forth in SHB 1406. We don’t have a separate “qualifying” tax, so we are just
eligible for the 0.0073% credit. Our City Clerk asked if I had a contact at DOR to receive our executed ordinance. I think we worked through you when we had our TBD started, but I
wanted to make sure I had the right contact before giving information to our clerk. If there are any more steps we need to do to get this started, please let me know. If you do get
our ordinance in the next few days, when would the distribution begin? Please call my cell phone number (listed below) if you would like to chat about this.
