2586ORDINANCE NO.2586 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE AMOUNT TO BE RECEIVED FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES FROM TAXATIONS ON ASSESSED VALUATIONS ON PROPERTY WITHINTHECITYOFMOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON FOR2011 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.Preamble: A.RCW 84.52 requires the governing body ofthe City ofMoses Lake to fix the estimated amount to be raised by taxation on assessed valuation on property within the City ofMoses Lake B.The City ofMoses Lake's actual levy amount from the previous year was $9,076,339. C.The City ofMoses Lake has a population of more than 10,000. D.Public hearings were held,with notice duly provided,to consider the city's current expense budget for the 2010 calendar year pursuant to RCW 84.55.120. E The City Council of the City of Moses Lake,after hearing and duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented,determine thatthe City ofMoses Lake requires an increaseinpropertytaxrevenuefromthepreviousyear,in addition to that resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property,any increase in the value of stated assessed utility property,and any increase due to the annexation of new territory,in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations ofthe city. Section 2-Tax Lew:The following taxes for general municipal purposes for the City ofMoses Lake for the year 2011 be and the same are hereby levied upon all taxable property within the City of Moses Lake.Anincreaseintheregularpropertytaxlevyof$90,763,in addition to the increase resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property as authorized by RCW 84.55.010.and any increases in the value of stated assessed utility property,is hereby authorized for the 2011 levy in the amount of$15,000.000whichisapercentageincreaseof1.00%from the previous year,and any increase due to the annexation of new territory and new construction. Section 3.Effective Date:This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)days after its passage and publication as provided by law.
