AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A BEAUTIFICATION ADVISORYCOMMISSIONFORTHECITYOFMOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONANDADDINGCHAPTER1.11 TO THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE
MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CÎTY OF MOSES LAKE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.The following chapter is hereby added to the City of Moses
Lake Municipal Code:
CHAPTER 1.11
BEAUTIFICATION ADVISORY COMMISSION
1.11.010 Membership.There is hereby established a Beautification Advisory
Commission for the City of Moses Lake which shall be composed of seven (7)
members who shall be representative citizens.They shall be appointed by
the Mayor,subject to confirmation by a majority of the City Council.
All appointments to the Commission shall be for three-year terms,except that
for original appointees the terms of three members shall expire December 31,
1970;the term of two members shall expire December 31,1971 and the term of
two members shall expire on December 31,1972.
Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms in the sanemanner as for original
appointments .The Mayor may remove any member with confirmation of the City
i Council.All members shall serve without compensation.
The Mayor shall select the Commission Chairman.
1.11.020 Duties.The Beautification Commission shall advise the Mayor,
the City Council,the City IVÏanager and City Administration on matters pertain-
ing to landscaping and beautification of public property and shall be generally
responsible for encouraging improvements on private property and otherwise
promoting a more attractive environment for the community.The City Council
maý fefer any ordinance,resolution or other proposal to the Commission for it's
recommendations .The Commission shall report to the City Council thereon,
making such recommendations and giving such advice as it deems appropriate.
1.11.030 Organization.A Majority of the Commission shall constitute a
quorum for the transaction of business and four (4)affirmative votes shall be
i necessary to carry any proposition.All meetings shall be open to the public,
and minutes of all meetings shall be filed with the City Manager.The Commission
shall submit a report to the City Council on the first regular Council meeting
in November of each year.

Section 2 .Effective Date
The provisions of Section 23,Ordinance No.379 are hereby waived.This
Ordinance shall be read only once before its passage and shall take effect
immediately after pa agecil
