AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
618 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING
THE BUDGET POR THE CITY OF MOSES LAKEIWASHINGTONFORTHEYEAR1971.
WHEREAS the Rock Festival proposed to be held in Grant County during 1971 required additionallawenforcementassistance,necessitating additional funds within the Police Department Budget of
the General Fund for the purpose of defraying the cost thereof,
AND WHEREAS due to the City of Moses Lake's participation in the Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters
Pension Act,it is necessary to appropriate additional monies to cover this expenditure during 1971,
AND WHEREAS because of failure of the air conditioning system in the City of Moses Lake Library,it
is necessary to appropriate funds for the maintenance of the Library Building,
AND WHEREAS due to the City of Moses Lake's participation in the Law Enforcement and Fire FightersPensionAct,it is necessary that en appropriation be made to the Firemen's Pension Fund,
AND WHEREAS sufficient unappropriated funds exist in the General Fund and the Firemen's PensionPundtomaketheseappropriations,
AND WHEREAS a loan from the Local Improvement Guarantee fund is available for appropriation to theLibraryFund,
NOW THEREPOREthe City Council of the City of Moses Lake does ordain es follows:
Section 1.That the following appropriations within the 1971 Budget be increased by the following sums:
