i AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MOSES IAKE PROVIDINGFORTHEANNEXATIONOFTHETOWNOFWESTLAKE.
WHEREAS,the Town Council of the Town of Westlake by ResolutiondatedMarch9,1972 requested the City of Moses Lake to annex the Town
of Westlake as a part of the corporate territory of the City of Moses Lake,and,
WHEREAS,the City of Moses Lake by Resolution No.555,,datedMarch28,1972 agreed to the annexation of the Town of Westlake by theCityofMosesLake,and
WKEREAS,a special election was held in the Town of Westlake onJune15,1972 for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the Town ofWestlake,Washington,the proposition of whether the Town of WestlakeshouldbeannexedtotheCityofMosesLake,Washington,and
WHEREAS,the Grant County Canvassing Board certified that theelectorsoftheTownofWestlakevotedtwenty(20)in favor of annexation,and four (4)opposed to annexation,and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Moses Lake deems itwiseandexpedienttoadoptanordinanceconfirmingsaidannexation,
i NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE,DOORDAINASFOLLOWS:
Section 1.The annexation of the Town of Westlake as a part of the corporate .
territory of the City of Moses Lake is hereby confirmed and accepted by theCityCounciloftheCityofMosesLake.
Section 2.The Town of Westlake shall become a part of the City of MosesLake,Washington,on the effective date of this ordinance which shall befivedaysafteritspassageandpublication,as provided by law.
Section 3.A certified copy of this ordinance shall be transmitted to theSecretaryofStateoftheStateofWashington,and to the Planning and CommunityAffairsAgencyoftheStateofWashington.
Section 4.The provisions of Section 17,Ordinance No.474,are herebywaived.This ordinance shall be read only once lefore its passage.
