AN ORDINANCE REENACTING CHAPTER 1.20 OF THE MOSESILAKECITYCODEENTITLED"POLICE CIVIL SERVICE"BY RE-
CREATING THE C1VIL SERVICE SYSTEM AND REESTABLISHING
THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION TO SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLY
WITH CHAPTER 41.12 OF THE REVISED CODE OF WASHINGTON,
AS IT RELATES TO ALL FULL-TIME,PERMANENT EMPLOYEES
OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OP THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
1.20.04 RECREATING AND REESTABLISHING
Pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 41.12 RCW,there is hereby
recreated a Civil Service System and there is reestablished a Civil Service
Commission which will substantially comply with the exercise of powers and
the performance of the duties established by state law relative to the selec-
tion,appointment and employment in the Police Department of the City of
Moses Lake,including the Chief of Police.
1.20.08 COMPOSITION AND DUTIES
Such Commission shall be composed of three (3)members,who shall be
appointed by the City Manager and who shall serve without compensation.
Such Commissioners shall have the qualifications as prescribed by Chapter
41.12.030 RCW.The term of a member who ceases to reside within the
corporate limits of the City of Moses Lake shall terminate.
1.20.12 DUTIES
This Commission,upon appointment,qualification and organization,shall
hold meetings,adopt rules and regulations,perform duties and exercise
powers in compliance with Chapter 41.12 RCW.
1.20.16 REPEALING EXISTING ORDINANCE
Existing Chapter 1.20 (Ordinance No.186 and 226)of the Moses Lake City
Code is hereby repealed .
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)days after its passage
and publication.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by its Mayor this 9th day of
Santomb 1975.
