AN ORDINANCE REENACTINGCHAPTER 1.16 OP THE MOSES
LAKE CITY CODE ENTITLED "PIRE CIVJL SERVICE"BY RECREA-TING THE CIVIL SERVICE SYSTEM AND RESSTABLISHING THECIVILSERVICECOMMISSIONTOSUBSTANTIALLYCOMPLYWITHCHAPTER41.08 OF THE REVISED CODE OF WASHINGTON,AS IT RELATES TO ALL FULL-TIME,PERMANENT EMPLOYEESOPTHEFIREDEPARTMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE DO ORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
1.16.04 RECREATING AND REESTABLISHING
Pursuant to the authority conferred by Chapter 41.08.ROW,there is herebyrecreatedaCivilServiceSystemandthereisreestablishedaCivilServiceCommissionwhichwillsubstantiallycomplywiththeexerciseofpowersandtheperformanceofthedutiesestablishedbystatelawrelativetotheselection,appointment and employment in the Fire Department of the CityofMosesLake,including the Fire Chief.
1.16.08 COMPOSITION AND DUTIES
Such Commission shall be composed of three (3)members,who shall beappointedbytheCityManagerandwhoshallservewithoutcompensation.Such Commissioners shall have the qualifications as prescribed by Chapter .41.08.030 RCW.The term of a member who ceases to reside within thecorporatelimitsoftheCityofMosesLakeshall.terminate.
1.16.12 DUTIES '
This Commission,upon appointment,qualification and organization,shallholdmeetings,adopt rules and regulations,perform duties and exercise
powers in compliance with Chapter 41.08 RCW.
1.16.16 REPEALING EXISTING ORDINANCE
Existing Chapter 1.16 (Ordinance No.255)of the Moses Lake City Code isherebyrepealed.
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)days after its pass-age and publication.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by its Mayor this 9th day ofSeptember,1975 .
