AN ORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER6.04 OF THEMOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"DOGS"BYADDINGA NEWSECTIONWHICHPERMITSTHECITYOFMOSESLAKETOACCEPTCATSFORIMPOUNDMENTANDDISPOSITION
THECITY COUNCILOF THECITY OF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTON,DOORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
I Section 1.Chapter 6.04 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "Dogs"isherebyamendedtoreadasfollows:
"Dogs _and g"
Section 2.There is added to Chapter 6.04 of the Municiple Code entitled "Dogs"the following:
6.04.085 Cats -Impoundment and Disposition.Any person residing withinthecorporatelimitsofthecityandowningacatmaydeliversuchcattothePoliceDepartment,upon the execution of the necessary releases andwaiversonformsprovidedforbythePoliceDepartmentanduponpaymentofthenecessaryimpounding,boarding,and euthanizing fees,for dispo-sition.The owner of a cat brought in for disposition may request thatsuchcatbeeuthanizedimmediately.Alternately,such cat brought in fordispositionmaybeheld,upon request of the owner,for a period of 48hoursfromthetimeofimpounding,exclusive of holidays and Sundays,forthepurposeofattemptingtolocateanadoptivehomeforsuchcat.Ifsuchcatremainsimpoundedaftertheaforesaid48hourperiod,such catmaybeeuthanized,sold at auction under the direction of the PoliceChief,or otherwise disposed of as directed by the Police Chief.Anyfundsreceivedfromthesaleofanycats,in addition to the cost ofboardingsuchcat,shall be placed in the current expense fund of thecity.
I Section 3.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)days afteritspassageandpublicationasprovidedbylaw.
