ANORDINANCEPROVIDINGFORTHEADOPTIONOF THE COMPREHENSIVEPLANGOALSANDPOLICIESANDMAPSANDREPEALINGSECTION17.48.020 OF THEMOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODE
THECITY COUNCILOF THECITY OF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONDOORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 17.48.010 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code shall be amended toreadasfollows:
i 17.48.010 Adoption of Comprehensive Plan Goals,Policies,and Maps:The MosesLakePlanningCommissionhasrecommendedforadoptionaComprehensivePlanningMap,Plan,Goals,and Policies.That plan,map,goals andpoliciesareincorporatedbyreferenceandaremadeapartofthisordinanceasifsetforthfullyherein,and that plan,map,goals andpoliciesareadoptedasaplanforthephysicalandothergenerallyadvantageousdevelopmentofthecitytoencouragethemostappropriateuseofthelandthroughoutthecity,to lessen traffic congestion andaccidents,to secure safety from fire,to provide adequate light andair,to prevent overcrowding of land,to avoid undue concentration ofpopulation,to promote a coordinated development of the unbuilt areas,to encourage the formation of neighborhood or communityunits,tosecureanappropriateallotmentoflandareainnewdevelopments fortherequirementsofthecommunitylife,to conserve and restore naturalbeautyandothernaturalresources,to facilitate the adequate provi-sion of transportation,water,sewerage,and other public uses andrequirements.That plan,map,goals and policies shall be the Compre-hensive Land Use Plan and Map of the city until appropriately amended,and upon any such amendmentor amendmentsbeing duly made,the plans,map,goals and policies or any of them,as ma.ybe appropriate from thenatureoftheamendment,shall be deemed changed to conform to any saidamendment.
Section 2.Section 17.48.020 shall be deleted in its entirety.I 17.48.020 Amendment to Comprehensive Plan:An amendmentto the ComprehensivePlanasrecommendedbythePlanningCommissionandcertaindataat-tached thereto on file with the City Clerk,and b.ythis reference madeapartofthistitle,is adopted as part of the plan for the physicalandotherwiseadvantageousdevelopmentofthecity;to lessen trafficcongestionandaccidents,to secure safet.y from fire,to provide ade-quate light and air,to prevent overcrowding of land,to avoid undueconcentrationofpopulation,to promote a coordinated development oftheunbuiltareas,to encourage the formation of neighborhood communityunits,to secure an appropriate allotment of land area in new develop-ments for the requirements of the communitylife,to conserve andrestorenaturalbeautyandothernaturalresources,to facilitate theadequateprovisionoftransportation,water,sewerage,and other publicusesandrequirements.
Section 3.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)days afteritspassageandpublicationasprovidedb.y law.
