AN ORDINANCEAMENDINGMOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODESECTION5.04.080 ENTITLED"FEE SCHEDULE"
THECITY COUNCILOF THECITY OF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONDOORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Moses Lake Municipal Code Section 5.04.080 is amended to provideiasfollows:
5.04.080 Fee Schedule:The business license fee schedule is fixed in theamountofthirty-five dollars per year,payable in advance,foreachbusiness,trade,or profession,conducted or carried on withinthecorporatelimitsofthecity;provided,that tax exempt non-profit companies,associations,corporations,or copartnerships ofwhateverkindasdefinedbythefederalorstategovernment,shallnotberequiredtopaythebusinesslicensefee,but,nevertheless,shall obtain a business license,without fee,if conducting a busi-ness in order to raise funds from members outside the organization.The business license for tax exempt nonprofit companies,associa-tions,corporations,or copartnerships of whatever kind as referredtohereinshallbeobtainedonceandshallbeeffectiveforthelifetimeoftheorganization.This exemption is an addition tothatprovidedinSection5.04.090.No business,profession,ortradeconductedorcarriedoninasinglelocationunderoneman-agement or ownership shall pay more than one license fee regardlessofthemultiplenatureofthebusinesscarriedon;Provided furtherthatnotaxexemptnonprofitcompany,association,corporation,orcopartnershipofwhateverkindasdefinedbythefederalorstategovernmentswhichoperatesorconductsacommunityfestivaloreventofnomorethanfourdaysindurationshallberequiredtoobtainabusinesslicenseashereinpreviouslyprovidedandtheexemptionwhichhasbeenprovidedshallextendtothefestival's orievent's participants operating under sanction of said festival orevent.Any business,profession,or trade in more than one loca-tion within the city shall pay a license fee for each locationwherethebusiness,profession,or trade is conducted.
Section 2.The City Council declares that an emergency exists and that thisordinanceshalltakeeffectandbeinforcefivedaysafterpassageandpublicationasprovidedbylawupononereadingiftwothirdsoftheentireCityCouncilpresentvoteinfavorofpassage.
