ANORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER2.80 OF THEMOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"POLICE CIVIL SERVICE"
THECITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTON00 ORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 2.80 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "PoliceiLivilService"is amended as follows:
2.80.010 Recreating and Reestablishing:Pursuant to the authority conferred
upon the city by RCWChapter 41.12,there is recreated a Civil Ser-
vice Commission,which will substantially comply with the exercise
of powers and the performance of the duties provided by RCWChapter
41.12 concerning the selection,appointment,and employment in thePoliceDepartmentofthecity,including the Police Chief.
2.80.020 Composition:Such Commission shall be composed of three members,
who shall be appointed by the City Manager and who shall servewithoutcompensation.Such Commissioners shall have the qualifica-
tions as prescribed by RCW41.12.030.The term of a memberwho
ceases to reside within the corporate limits of the city shallterminate.
2.80.030 Duties:This Civil Service Commission,upon appointment,qualification,and organization,shall hold meetings,adopt rules
and regulations,perform duties and exercise powers in substantial
compliance with RCWChapter 41.12.This Commission is specificallygrantedtheauthorityandpowerintheplaceandsteadoftheCoun-
cil to adopt and enforce its rules and to substantially accomplish
the purpose of RCWChapter 41.12 in the best interests of the city.
I Section 2.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)days
after its passage and publication as provided by law.
Adopted by the City Council and signed by its Mayor on November 25,1986.
