AN ORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER12.12 OF THEMOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"SIDEWALKCONSTRUCTION"
THECITY COUNCILOF THE CITY OF MOSESLAKE WASHINGTONDOORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 12.12 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "SidewalkiConstruction"is amended as follows:
12.12.010 Sidewalk Specifications -Residential Zones:All sidewalks in theresidentialzonesofthecityshallbeconstructedofgrayconcreteunlesstheCouncilhaspreviouslyapprovedtheusageofalternatematerials;five feet (5')in width on grade and in accordance tospecifications.issued by the City Engineer.All sidewalks in allresidentialzonesshallbeconstructedadjacenttothecurb.Inexistingdevelopedareassidewalkshallbeconstructedinconfor-mance with existing sidewalk improvements unless the Council haspreviouslyapprovedavariationinconformity.
12.12.020 Curbs in Residential Zones:All curbs in the residential zonesshallbeconstructedofgrayconcreteunlesstheCouncilhaspre-viously approved the usage of alternate materials;and built to theestablishedgrade;constructed according to specifications issuedbytheCityEngineer.
12.12.050 Sidewalk Specifications -Commercial Zones:All sidewalks in thecommercialzonesofthecityshallbeconstructedofgrayconcreteunlessthecouncilhaspreviouslyapprovedtheusageofalternatematerialsandinaccordancetospecificationsissuedbytheCityEngineer.All sidewalks in all commercial zones shall be built tothefulldimensionbetweenthebackofthecurbandtheabuttingpropertyline.Sidewalks shall be constructed so as to avoidiphysicalobstructionsunlesstheCouncilhaspreviouslyapprovedtheplacementofphysicalobstructionssuchas;but not limited to;light poles;fire hydrants;planter boxes;trees;or tree wells inorontheareareservedforsidewalks.
Section 2.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)daysafteritspassageandpublicationasprovidedbylaw.
Adopted by the City Council and signed by its Mayor on October 13 1987.
