ANORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER 12.12 OF THE MOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"SIDEWALKCONSTRUCTION"
THE CITYCOUNCILOF THE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONDOORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 12.12 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "SidewalkConstruction"Is herebyamendedasfollows
12.12.050 SidewalkSpecifications -CommercialZones:AIIsidewalks in the commercialzones of theicityshallbeconstructedofgrayconcreteunlesstheCouncilhaspreviouslyapprovedthe
usage ofaltemate materialsand in accordanceto specificationsissued bythe CityEngineerexcepttheCentralBusinessDistrictwhichIsdefinedastheareaboundedbythesouthsideofPioneerWaytothenortheastsideofDogwoodStreetandthenorthwestsideofBroadwayAvenuetothesoutheastsideofFourthAvenuefromDogwoodtoBalsam;andthesouthwestsideofBalsamfromFourthtoFifth;and the northwestside of FifthAvenuefromBalsamtoPioneerWay,as shown on the attached map which is incorporated byreferenceandmadeapartofthisordinance.AllsidewalksIn allcommercialzones shallbebuilttothefulldimensionbetweenthebackofthecurbandtheabuttingpropertyline.Sidewalksshallbe constructed so as to avoid physicalobstructions unlessthe Councilhaspreviouslyapprovedtheplacementofphysicalobstructionssuchas,but not limitedto,lightpoles,fire hydrants,planter boxes,trees,or tree wells in or on the area reserved forsidewalks.
The sidewalksinthe CentralBusinessDistrict,except the drivewaysand alley approaches.shallbe constructed of concrete brick pavers in the red Decor pattern manufactured byWestconorapavermanufacturedbyanothercompanywhichisequaltothespecificationsoftheWestconRedDecorpatternbrickpaver.Driveway and alley approaches shall beconstructedofconcretebrickpaverintheblackDecorpatternmanufacti,ired by Westcon
or a naver manufacturedby another company which is equal to the specifications oftheWestconBlackDecorpattembrickpaver.The sidewalkshallbe constructedaccording tothecity'sCommunityStreetand UtilityStandards as adopted by reference by Moses LakeMunicipalCode12.08.The sidewalkstandards,as referenced by Moses Lake MunicipalCode12.08,shall include but not belimitedto specifications for the installation of sidewalks,tree wells,trees,irrigation system,electrical conduit for decorative and/or function-al/pedestrian street lightingand sidewalk furniture (benches,garbage cans,planters,etc.).
