ANORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER12.12 OFTHEMOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"SIDEWALKCONSTRUCTION"
THE CITYCOUNCILOF THE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONDO ORDAINASFOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 12.12 ofthe Moses Lake MunicipalCode entided "SidewalkConstructiorfIsamendedasfollows:
0 12.12.050 Sidewalk§pecifications-Opmmergial2ones:AllsidewalksInthe commercialzones ofthe cityshallbeconstructedofgrayconcreteunlesstheCouncilhaspreviouslyapprovedtheusageofaltematematerialsandinaccordancetospecitlcationsissuedbytheCityEngineerexcepttheCentralBusinessDistrictwhichisdefinedastheareaboundedbythesouthsideofPioneerWayfromFifthAvenuetoChestnutStreet;the northwestside ofBroadwayAvenue from ChestnutStreettoDogwoodStreet;the northeast side of Dogwood from Broadwayto Fifth Avenue;thesoutheastsideofFourthAvenuefromDogwoodtoBalsam;the northeastside ofBalsamfromFourthtoFifth;the northwest side of FifthAvenue from Balsam to Pioneer Way;the southwestsideofAshStreetfromFourthAvenueextending50'southeast,as shown onthe attached mapwhichisincorporatedbyreferenceandmadeapartofthisordinance.All sidewalks in allcommercialzonesshanbebuilttothefulldimensionbetweenthebackofthecurbandtheabuttingpropertyline.Sidewalksshan be constructed so as to avoid physicalobstructionsunlesstheCouncilhaspreviouslyapprovedtheplacementofphysicalobstructionssuchas,butnotlimitedto,light poles,fire hydrants,planter boxes,trees,or tree wens in or on the areareservedforsidewalks.
The sidewalksin theCentralBusinessDistrict,exceptthe driveways and aiey approaches,shallbeconstructedofconcretebrickpaversintheredDecorpattemmanufacturedbyWestconorapavermanufacturedbyanothercompanywhichisequaltothespecificationsoftheWestconRedDecorpattembrickpaver.Drivewayand alleyapproaches shall be constructed ofconcretebrickpaverintheblackDecorpattemmanufacturedbyWestconorapavermanufacturedbyanothercompanywhichisequaltothespecificationsoftheWestconBlackDecorpattembrickpaver.The sidewalkshall be constructedaccordingto the city's CommunityStreet and UtilityStandardsasadoptedbyreferencebyMosesLakeMunicipalCode12.08.The sidewalk8standards,as referencedby Moses LakeMunicipalCode 12.08,shallinclude but not be limitedtospecificationsfortheinstallationofsidewalks,tree wells,trees,irrigation system,electricalconduitfordecorativeand/or functional/pedestrianstreet lighting and sidewalk furniture(benches,garbage cans,planters,etc.).
Section 2.Thisordinanceshall take effectand be in force five (5)days after its passage and publicationasprovidedbylaw.
