AN ORDINANCE AMENDINGCHAPTER5.06 OF THE MOSESLAKEMUNICIPAL
CODE ENTITLED"UCENSINGREGULATIONS-TEMPORARYLOCATIONS"
THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONDO ORDAINASFOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 5.06 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "Licensing Regulations -TemporaryLocations"is amended as follows:
O 5.06.080 Fee Schedule:The business licensefee schedule is fixed inthe amount ofone hundred dollars($100)per year or part thereof,payable in advance,for each business,trade or profession,conducted or carried on withinthe corporate limits of the city;except for each business sellingfireworksasallowedbylawwhichshallpayabusinesslicensefeeofsixhundreddollars($600)per stand except forthose whichare operated by non-profitcompanies,associations,corpora-tions,or copartnerships which shall pay a fee of three hundred dollars ($300)per stand;provided,that tax exempt nonprofit companies,associations,corporations,or copartnerships ofwhateverkindasdefinedbythefederalorstategovernment,shall not be required to pay thebusinesslicensefeeexceptiftheyoperatefireworkssalesoperations,but,nevertheless,shallobtainabusinesslicense,without fee,if conducting a business in order to raise funds frommembersoutsidetheorganization.The business license for tax exemptnonprofit companies,associations,corporations,or copartnerships of whatever kind as referredto herein shall beobtainedonceandshallbeeffectiveforthelifetimeoftheorganizationexceptiftheyoperatefireworkssalesoperationsinwhichcasethetaxexemptnon-profit companies,associations,corporations,or co-partnershipsofwhatever kind shallobtain a business license for each yeartheyoperateafireworkssalesoperationandpaytheappropriatefee.This exemptionis anadditiontothatprovidedinSection5.06.090.No business,trade or professionconducted orcarriedoninasinglelocationunderonemanagementorownershipshallpaymorethanonelicensefeeregardlessofthemultiplenatureofthebusinesscarriedon;Provided further thatnotaxexemptnonprofitcompany,association,corporation,or copartnersh1pof whatever kind asdefinedbythefederalorstategovernmentswhichoperatesorconductsacommunityfestival
or event or event of no morethan four days in durationshall be required to obtain a businesslicenseashereinpreviouslyprovidedandtheexemptionwhichhasbeenprovidedshallextendtothefestival's or event's participantsoperating under sanction of said festival or event.Any
business,professionor trade in more than one location withinthe cityshallpay a license fee foreachlocationwherethebusiness,profession,or trade is conducted.
Section2.This ordinance shalltake effectand be in force five (5)days after its passage and publication
as provided by law.
