ANORDINANCE CREATINGCHAPTER 2.86 OF THE MOSESLAKEMUNICIPAL
CODEENTlTLED"MUNICIPALCOURTJUDGES"
THE CITYCOUNCILOF THE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONDOORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 2.86 ofthe Moses Lake Municipal Codeentitled"MunicipalCourtJudges"iscreated asfollows:
2.86.010 Finding:The city has established a municipal department of the Grant County DistrictCourtpursuanttoRCWChapter3.46.The cityisrequired to provideby ordinancefor the appointmentofthejudgesoftheDistrictCourttoserveasjudgesofthecitysmunicipaldepartment.
2.86.020 Appointmentof Municipal CourtJudgeç:The Mayorshall appoint one or more ofthe currentlyelectedorappointeddistrictcourtjudgesandtheirprotemsastheparttimemunicipalcourtjudgeorjudges.
2.86.030 Term and Removal:Any municipalcourt judgeappointed by the Mayor shall serve in suchcapacityforhisorhertermasdistrictcourtjudgeandmayberemovedfromsoservinginthesamemannerandforthesamereasonsasheorshemayberemovedfromofficeofdistrictcourtjudge.
2.86.040 Term independent gf Maygr Any municipal court judgeappointed by the mayor pursuanttothisordinanceshallremainamunicipalcourtjudgeforthedurationofhisorherdistrictcourtterm,despite any change in the status of the appointingmayor.
Section 2.Thisordinance shalltake effect and be in force five (5)days after its passage and publication
as providedby law.
