A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF UTILITY
SHUT OFFS AND LATE FEES THROUGH
OCTOBER 2021 TO CONTINUE PROVIDING
RELIEF FOR CUSTOMERS IMPACTED BY
THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK.
Recitals:
1. Businesses and individuals throughout the State of Washington have been negatively
impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, and are experiencing unprecedented economic
hardship.
2. A Covid-19 Utility Relief Program was authorized on September 1, 2020 by the City
Manager in accordance to Resolution No. 3811 and Executive Order 20-23.4 from the
Governor’s Office which expired on September 30, 2021.
3. The City Council desires to extend the relief provided by Executive Order 20-23.4 and
the City’s Covid-19 Utility Relief Program through October 31, 2021, by temporarily
suspending utility shut offs and waiving late fees for delinquent customers to allow
additional time for those impacted to seek financial assistance for delinquent balances or
secure a payment arrangement with the Utility Billing Department.
Resolved:
1. The City Council of the City of Moses Lake hereby authorizes the continuation of the
suspension of utility shut offs and waiving of delinquent fees and assessments through
October 31, 2021.
ADOPTED by the City Council on October 12, 2021.
