1827_00001ORDINANCE NO.1827 AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE AMOUNT TO BE RECEIVED FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES FROM TAXATIONS ON ASSESSEDVALUATIONSON PROPERTYWITHINTHECITYOFMOSESLAKE,WASHINGTON FOR 1999 THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTON DOORDAINAS FOLLOWS: Section 1.Preamble: A.RCW S4.52 requires thegoverning body ofthe CityofMoses LaketofixtheestimatedamounttoberaisedbytaxationonassessedvaluationonpropertywithintheCityofMosesLake B.The City of Moses Lake has a population of more than 10,000. C.A public hearing was held on September22,1998,with notice duly provided,toconsiderthecity's current expense budget and the estimated taxamountto be receivedfrom assessedvaluationsonpropertywithintheCityofMosesLakeforthe1999calendaryearpursuanttoRCW84.55.120. D.The City Council of the Cityof Moses Lake,after hearing and duly considering allrelevantevidenceandtestimonypresented,determinethattheCityof Moses Lake requires an increaseinpropertytaxrevenuefromthepreviousyear,in additionto that resulting from theadditionofnewconstructionandimprovementstopropertyandanyincreaseinthevalueofstatedassessedproperty,in ordertodischarge theexpected expenses and obligations ofthedistrict. Section 2:Tax Levy:The following taxes for general municipalpurposes for the Cityof Moses Lake for theyear1999beandthesameareherebylevieduponalltaxablepropertywithintheCityofMosesLake.Anincreaseintheregularpropertytaxlevyof$100,252,in addition totheincrease resulting from theaddition ofnewconstructionandimprovementstopropertyasauthorizedbyRCW84.55.010 and any increase in thevalueofstatedassessedpropertyisherebyauthorizedforthe1999levyintheamountof$1,771,119whichisapercentageincreaseof6%from thepreviousyear. Section 3.Effective Date:This ordinance shall takeeffect and be in force five (5)days afterits passage andpublicationasprovidedbylaw.O Adopted by the City Council and signed by its Mayoron Novemt rt0,1998.
