ANORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER 18.25 OF THE MOSES LAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"R-4,RESIDENTIALZONE"
THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON DOORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 18.25 of the Moses Lake MunicipalCode entitled"R-4,Residential Zone"is amended
as follows:
0 18.25.180 Fences,Walls,and Hedaes:Fences,walls,and hedges shall not exceed eightfeet (8')abovefinishedgroundlevel.Solid fencing shallnotobscure sight at intersection.Sightdistances shallbeasrequiredinChapter17.28.030 ofthistitle.
A.Fences,walls,and hedges shall not exceed sixfeet (6')above finished ground level in anyfrontyard,norexceed eightfeet (8')on any interior side or rear yard.Fences,screens andhedgeslocatedinthefrontyardshallnotexceedfourfeet(4')unlessotherwiseapproved bytheCityEngineer,
B.Electric fences and barbed wire fences shall be prohibited except when used to containlivestockandshallberemovedwhenthelivestockusehasbeendiscontinued.Electric andbarbedwirefencesshallnotbelocatedwithinthefrontyardsetbackarea.
C.An installation permit shallberequiredfor theconstruction,erection,or installation ofafence,wall,or screening plantings.AIIpermit applicationsshall be reviewed and approved by theBuildingOfficialandtheCityEngineerforvehicularandpedestriansafety.Fences andwallsexceedingsixfeet(6')in height are regulated by theUniform Building Code and require abuildingpermit
Section 2.The City council declares that an emergency exists and this ordinance shall take effectimmediatelyasprovidedbylawupononereadingif2/3 of theentire City Council present vote in favor ofpassage.
