AN ORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER18.54 OF THEMOSES LAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"OFF-STREETPARKINGANDLOADING"
THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTONDO ORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 18.54 oftheMoses Lake Municipal Code entitled "Off-StreetParking and Loading"isamendedasfollows:
18.54.020 SpecificParkinq Requirements:The number of off-streetparking spaces requiredof each useOshallbeasfollows,exceptthatforlots havingless thaneightyfeet(80')frontageinnon-residentialzoneswherecompliancemayproveahardship,the Planning Commission may modify therequirements.
A.Residential:
1.Single Family 2 per unit2.Duplex2 per unit3.MobileHomes 2 per unit4.MultipleFamily 1 ½per unitone bedroom andefficiencyunits2perunitfortwoormorebedrooms5.Senior Citizen Dwelling 1 per unit
No lotor portion thereofshall be used for parking or storingoftruckor othermotorvehiclesexceedingone(1)tonnet capacity(seesubsection Lofthissection),or commercial,industrial,and agricultural equipmentor machinery,or recreational vehicles or trailerswhich exceedtwenty-fivefeet (25')in length.
B.Retail Business in allZones:Spaces per 1,000 squarefeetofgrossfloorarea

J.The Planning Commission shalldetermine theadequate parking spaces forspecial uses suchasairports,depots,swimmingpools,and other recreational uses.
K.Buildings having mixed occupanciesshall provide parkingforeach use as required.Multipleusebuildingsshallprovideparkingforthemostintensiveuse.
L.Parking oftrucksorother motorvehicle exceedingone (1)tonnet capacitymaynotbe parked
orstored on thepremises of a residential lot intheR-1,R-2,or R-3 zones.Atruckexceeding
one (1)ton netcapacityused as a means oftransportationto and from a place of business or
employment may be parked on the premises ten feet (10')or more from and adjoining
residencefora continuous period nottoexceed forty-eight (48)hours on week days and sixty
(60)hours onweekends.A truckexceedingone (1)ton net capacitywhich is not used as a
means of transportationtoandfrom a place of business oremploymentmaybe parkedon the
premises for a continuous period not to exceed four (4)hours.The parking shall be in
compliance withexistingordinancesofthecityand ordinances hereafter enacted,pertaining
to public health,safety and welfare.This section shall not be construed toallowthemain-
tenanceof a public or private nuisance.OM.Off-street parkingareas used tofulfilltherequirementsof thistitleshallnotbe used for loading
and unloadingoperations except during periods of the day when not required to care for
parkingneeds.
N.Formula used fordetermining square footage of gross floor are:
Main Floor 100%
Basement and Second Floor 50%
Additional Stories 25%
Equals square footage of gross floor area
18.54.070 Size of Loadina Space:A loading space shall consist of a space notless than tenfeet (10')wide,
thirty-fivefeet (35')long,and a height clearance of fourteen feet (14').Where vehicles generally
used for loading andunloadingexceed these dimensions,the requiredlength ofthesespaces shall
be increased.The Building Official may waive the height requirement upon receipt of evidence
thatsuch height is unnecessary.
Section2,This ordinanceshall takeeffect and be in force five (5)days after its passage and publication
of its summaryas provided by law.
