AN ORDINANCEFIXINGTHE AMOUNT TO BE RECEIVED FOR MUNICIPALPURPOSESFROMTAXATIONSONASSESSEDVALUATIONSONPROPERTY
WITHINTHE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTON FOR 2002
THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF MOSESLAKE,WASHINGTON DO ORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Preamble:
O A.RCW 84.52 requires thegoverning bodyof theCityofMoses Lake tofixtheestimatedamounttoberaisedbytaxationonassessedvaluationonpropertywithintheCityofMosesLake
B.The Cityof Moses Lake has a population of more than10,000.
C.Publichearings were held,with notice duly provided,toconsider thecity's current expensebudgetforthe2001calendaryearpursuanttoRCW84.55.120.
D.The CityCouncilof the Cityof Moses Lake,after hearing and duly considering all relevant
evidence and testimonypresented,determine thatthe CityofMoses Lake requires an increase
in property taxrevenue from the previous year,in addition to that resulting from the addition
of new construction and improvements to property,any increase in the value of statedassessedutilityproperty,and any increase due tothe annexation of new territory,inorder todischargetheexpectedexpensesandobligationsofthecity.
Section 2:Tax Levy:The followingtaxesforgeneral municipalpurposes for theCity of Moses Lake fortheyear2002beandthesameareherebylevieduponalltaxablepropertywithintheCityofMosesLake.An
increase in theregularpropertytaxlevyof $39,245,inaddition to the increase resulting from the addition of
new constructionand improvements toproperty as authorizedby RCW 84.55.010,anyincrease inthevalueofstatedassessedutilitypropertyisherebyauthorizedforthe2002levyintheamountof$2,115,710whichisapercentageincreaseof1.89%from the previous year,and any increase due totheannexationof newterritory.
Section 3.Effective Date:This ordinance shalltake effect and be inforce five(5)days after its passage andpublicationasprovidedbylaw.
