AN ORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER 8.08 OF THE MOSES LAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"GARBAGE COLLECTION"
THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON DO ORDAINAS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 8.08 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "Garbage Collection"is amended asfollows:
8.08.140 Fee Schedule:Commencing withbillingdates after April 1,1993,exceptas otherwiseprovided,O services and charges forgarbage collection shall be as follows (The garbage service descriptionineffectatthetimethegarbagebillispreparedshallbeprintedontheutilitybillforeachaccountwithgarbageservice.):
A.Residential Rates:Regular service at the curb or alley for collection of up to three (3)containers,garbage cans,bags,bundles,or the like once per week shall be as set forth onScheduleAadoptedinconjunctionwiththisordinance.Additional containers,garbage cans,bags,bundles,or thelike shallbe collectedfor the fee as set forth inSchedule A adopted inconjunctionwiththisordinance.The chargeas set forth inSchedule Aper container,garbagecan,bag,bundle,or the like shall be paid in cash in advance at the Moses Lake FinanceDepartmentwiththepurchaseofacouponwhichwillbeattachableandattachedtothegarbagecan,bag,bundle,or thelike.Service fees for duplexes shallbe in accordancewiththeservicefeesasshownonScheduleAadoptedinconjunctionwiththisordinancewhichwillbefoundonfileintheofficeoftheFinanceDirector.Service fees for condominiumsshallbethesameastherateforregularresidentialserviceandshallbeeffectivewithbillingdatesafterApril1,1993 or as inthefuturerevisedby indexing.
B.Commercial Rates:Service fees for,including but not limitedtoapartments,motels,plannedunitdevelopments,andtrailerpark rate shall be inaccordance with theservicefees as showninScheduleAadoptedinconjunctionwiththisordinancewhichwillbefoundonfileintheOfficeoftheFinanceDirector.
C.Additional or Special Services:Additional or special services desired by residential orcommercialcustomersshallbearrangedwiththegarbagecontractorandpaidtothecityattheratesforspecialgarbageserviceinaccordancewithScheduleAadoptedinconjunctionwiththisordinancewhichwillbefoundonfileintheOfficeoftheFinanceDirector.
D.Drop Boxes and Compactor Rates:Ifdrop box andcompactorrates,other than 1 x month or1xmonthtogetherwithextrapickuprates,are used;the rates are for an annual basis nottoObeadjustedseasonally.Compensation forunused pickups,ifany,are included ina reducedrate.Extra pickups when applicable may be used with any service rate.Contractor willbepaidfor1xmonthservicefordropboxesandcompactorswhichshallinclude1pickuppermonththenthecontractorshallbepaidforadditionalactualpickups.
The garbage contractor shall submit allcharges for special garbage service and alldrop boxandcompactorpickupsonformsprescribedbythecityFinanceDepartment.
Section 2.This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)days after its passage and publication ofitssummaryasprovidedbylaw.
