AN ORDINANCE AMENDINGCHAPTER 2.30 OF THE MOSESLAKEMUNICIPALCODEENTITLED"EMERGENCY MEDICALANDAMBULANCESERVICE"
THECITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON DO ORDAINASFOLLOWS:
Section 1.Chapter 2.30 of theMoses Lake Municipal Code entitled "Emergency Medical and AmbulanceService"is amended as follows:
2.30.020 Service tobe Provided bv Fire Department:So long as the city provides emergencymedical andOgroundambulanceservicewithinthecorporatelimitsofthecitynow,or as thecity'slimitsareexpanded,the Moses Lake Fire Department willbe the sole provider ofemergency medicalandgroundambulanceservicesoriginatingwithinthecitylimitsexceptasprovidedforinthischapter.Itshall be unlawful for any person,firm,or corporation tooperate or cause tobe operatedwithinthecitylimitsanambulanceorambulanceserviceexceptasprovidedforinthischapter.Anambulanceorambulanceserviceoperatingwithinthecorporatelimitsofthecity,other than theambulancesprovidedbythecity,willoperate only throughmutualaid,inter-local agreement,orcontractwiththecity.
2.30.030 Reciorocity and MutualAid:Emergency and non-emergency transportshall be provided tootheragenciesbythecityaccordingtoanyreciprocal,mutual aid,or other inter-localagreements orcontractsexecutedbetweentheparties.
2.30.075 Penalty for Violations:Any personwho violates any provision of thischapter shallbe deemed tohavecommittedacivilinfractionandshallbesubjecttoapenaltyofonethousanddollars($1,000).
Section 2.The CityCouncil declares that an emergency exists and this ordinance shalltake effect asprovidedbylawupononereadingif2/3 of the entire CityCouncil present votein favor of passage.
