2201_00001ORDINANCE NO.2201 ANORDINANCEAMENDINGCHAPTER 8.50 OF THE MOSES LAKEMUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED"RESIDENTIALVEHICLESTORAGE" THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON DO ORDAINAS FOLLOWS: Section 1.Chapter 8.50 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "Residential Vehicle Storage"isamendedasfollows: O 8.50.040 Storage ofCertain Vehicles andComponents:Storage ofvehicles on residential properties (R-1,R-2,and R-3)shall be allowed as follows: A.Vehicles may be kept or located inor under any lawfullypermitted building such as a garage,shed,or an enclosed and properly licensed utilitytrailerso long as the utilitytraileris parked properly under the requirements of thischapter. B.Vehicles may be parked orstored outsidean approvedstructureproviding theyare stored inthefollowingmanner: 1.Vehicles such as cars,pick-up trucks,motorcycles,or recreational vehicles that arelicensedforuseonpublicroads,may be parked in a front yard only on an approveddesignateddrivewayoronacityapprovedsurfaceparalleltoadesignateddriveway.A trailerattached to a car or pickup truckmay be temporarilyparked fora period of twenty-four (24)hours ina front yard as setforth intheordinance so long as itremains attached to thecar or pickup truck.AIIotherallowedvehicles mustbe parked in asideorrear yard; 2.Vehicles parked ina side yard or in a rear yard shall be parked on an improved parking surface. C.Trailers,loaded or unloaded,orvehicles that are not licensed for use on public roads,maybestoredonlyinasideyardorrearyardoftheproperty, D.Inoperable vehicles outside a structure that are entirelyintact,not considereda junkvehicle nora public nuisance,shall not be stored on property for a period exceeding thirty(30)days.Working on such vehicles shall comply with MLMC8.50.050. E.Commercial vehicles over one ton or semi-tractorsand/or semi-tractor trailercombinationsshallnotbeparked,deliveries excepted,or stored on any residential property unlessothenviseallowedbylaw. F.No vehicles or recreational vehicles shall be parked or stored on vacant property unlessallowedbylaw. Section 2.This ordinance shalltakeeffectand be inforce five (5)days after its passage and publication of its summary as provided by law.
