Co ey ORDINANCE NO. 2434 •AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2421 FIXING THE AMOUNT TO BE RECEIVED FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES FROM TAXATIONS ON ASSESSED VALUATIONS ON PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE, WASHING- TON FOR 2009 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. This ordinance amends Ordinance No. 2421 based upon information provided by the Grant County Assessor subsequent to the passage of the ordinance. Section 2 . Preamble: A. RCW 84.52 requires the governing body of the City of Moses Lake to fix the estimated amount to be raised by taxation on assessed valuation on property within the City of Mose Lake B.The City of Moses Lake's actual levy amount from the previous year was $3,197,428. C.The City of Moses Lake has a population of more than 10,000. D.Public hearings were held, with notice duly provided, to consider the city's current ex budget for the 2009 calendar year pursuant to RCW 84.55.120. pense • E. The City Council of the City of Moses Lake, after hearing and duly considering all evidence and testimony presented, determine that the City of Moses Lake re increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, in addition to that resultin addition of new construction and improvements to property, any increase in th stated assessed utility property, and any increase due to the annexation of new order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the city. Section 3: Tax Levy: The following taxes for general municipal purposes for the City of Moses Lake for the year 2009 be and the same are hereby levied upon all taxable property within the City of Moses Lake. An increase in the regular property tax levy of $31,974, in addition to the increase resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property as authorized by RCW 84.55.010, and any increase in the value of stated assessed utility property, is hereby authorized for the 2009 levy in the amount of $5,200,000 which is a percentage increase of 1.00% from the previous year, and any increase due to the annexation of new territory and new construction. Section 3.
