Whitaker, City Attorney • ORDINANCE NO. 2498 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.12 OF THE MOSES LAKE MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED "BEES AND APIARIES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 6.12 of the Moses Lake Municipal Code entitled "Bees and Apiaries" is amended as follows: 6.12.020 Consent of Surrounding Property Owners: This chapter is not intended to prohibit the operation and maintenance of an apiary or the keeping of bees as set out in Section 6.12.010 where and so long as the consent in writing to the operation and maintenance of the keeping thereof by the owners of all the residences, dwellings, hotels, apartment houses, or rooming houses owned by others within one hundred feet or the nearest portion of such apiary or hive or hives where such bees are kept is obtained by the person desiring to operate or maintain such apiary or keep such bees, and filed with the Finance Director. In the case of the operation and maintenance of an apiary or the keeping of bees at the time of the passage of the ordinance codified in this chapter, such consent shall be filed within thirty days. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days after its passage and publication of its summary as provided by law. • • • •
