1997 01 215199 MOSES LAKE CITY COUNCIL Special Meeting January 21,1997 Council Present:Daryl Jackson.Ron Covey,Wayne Rimple,Grant Nichols,and Richard Pearce Absent: Bob Chapman and Bill Reese I.CITIZEN INPUT -None II.PRESENTATIONS -None ill.CONSENT AGENDA -None IV.CONSIDERATION OF BIDS V.PETITIONS,COMMUNICATIONS,OR PUBLIC HEARINGS HEMPHILL -MOVE HOUSE Joseph K.Gavinski,City Manager,stated that the city had received an application to relocate a home from J0<^r Marina Drive to Sunset Drive.Apublic hearing is required before the Council can made a determination ,,y on the request to move the structure. Kim Hemphill,proponent,stated that he would be living in the home and the interior and exterior of the property will be renovated.The home wiil be brought up to code and new siding and windows will be installed. Approximately $45,000 will be spent on the renovation of the home and a two car garage is also proposed at a iater date. The public hearing was opened. Maude Picket, 1458 W.Sunset,stated that she has no objection to the home but she objected to the way inwhich it was done.She mentioned that she received notification of the public hearing on January 7 and on January 9 the house was moved in. Action Taken:Dr.Covey moved that the public hearing be closed,seconded by Mr.Pearce,and passed unanimously. Mr.Gavinski explained the process that is required to take place prior to the moving of the home.Iftime was a consideration,Mr. Hemphill was informed that he could move the building onto the lot with the understanding that if Council denied permission to move the home,it would have to be removed at his own expense. Action Taken:Mr.Rimple moved that the request by Kim Hemphill to relocate a home to 1467 W.Sunset be granted,seconded by Dr.Covey,and passed unanimously.
