1980 01 29-U CITY OF MOSES LAKE MOSES LAKE,WASHINGTON SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING COUNCIL CHAMBERS January 29,1980 7:30 P.M. Members Present:Bob Hill, Charles Edwards, Norman Johnson Stephen Shinn, Barry Ziegler, Don Swanson Absent:Harvey Vernier 2939 Mayor Bob Hill called the special Council meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mr.Hill stated that the meeting was called primarily to discuss the agreement with the County on solid waste.He stated that the agreement had been discussed at a meeting which lasted two hours,and there are a few items of disagreement.The Commissioners stated that they would consider any counter pro posals from the Moses Lake City Council.The Council will put together a proposal and present it to the Commissioners.Mr. Hill stated that since the Council had not had a chance to read the proposed Solid Waste Disposal Agreement,that the Council take time to read the agreement at this time.The Council re; the agreement. /W sad Mr.Hill stated that he wanted to get input from the Councilmen regarding the agreement. Mr.Johnson asked what the fees were,and Mr.Shinn answered that they were $1.00 per loose cubic yard. Mr.Edwards stated that he understood that this gives the Council something by February 1,1980,which is the date the County wanted to have the agreements signed. Mr.Shinn stated that by acting on this the Council is stating that they are going to go along with this until May 1, 1980. Mr.Ziegler moved that the Council adopt the agreement as presented for the 90-day period,second by Mr.Edwards,and passed unanimously. The Mayor adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m. and the Council went into a study session. rt E.Hill,Mayor ATTEST:
