1983 09 27 Revenue Sharing3656 CITY OF MOSES LAKE FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING MEETING SEPTEMBER 27,1983 7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m.by Joseph K.Gavinski,City Manager. Mr.Gavinski opened the public hearing and stated that this was a public meeting to permit citizens of the City of Moses Lake to have an initial opport unity to make oral and written comments regarding possible uses of Federal Gen eral Revenue Sharing Funds.He stated that no decision will be made tonight as to the uses of available funds for 1984. Mr.Gavinski stated that the amount of Federal General Revenue Sharing funds expected to be available in 1984 is estimated to be $250,000,and $4,000 which was carried over from 1983,for a total of $254,000. Mr.Gavinski asked if there were any written comments.A letter received on September 29,1983,from Senior Opportunity &Services,Inc,signed by Jack P. Wood, as Chairman of the Board,was not entered into the record,because Mr. Wood had telephoned and requested that the letter not be entered into the record, because he would like to amend the letter.Mr.Wood was advised that the request from the Senior Opportunity &Services,Inc.would be held so that they would have an opportunity to submit another letter.Mr.Gavinski advised him that his request could be submitted anytime prior to the adoption of the 1984 Budget,how ever, he would like to have his request within the next week. There were no written comments entered into the record. Mr.Harold Hirst, 418 East Hill, Moses Lake, was the only person in attend ance. Mr.Hirst stated that he was here on behalf of the Senior Opportunity & Services, Inc. Mr.Gavinski explained to Mr. Hirst that Mr.Wood had requested that the letter that was submitted not be entered into the record so that a revi sed request could be submitted at a later date. Mr. Hirst had no further comments. Mr.Gavinski stated that citizens will have an opportunity tp again submit oral and written comments regarding proposed uses of General Revenue Sharing Funds prior to the adoption of the 1984 Budget. A notice of public hearing on the 1984 Budget will be published in the Columbia Basin Daily Herald. Citizens wishing to submit comments should attend the public hearing, or submit their requests in writing prior to the hearing. Mr. Gavinski also stated that a Statement of Pro posed Use of General Revenue Sharing Funds will be available for public inspection during normal business hours at City Hall prior to the public hearing on the 1984 Budget.
