REPAIR OF FIRE TRUCK:Explained by City Manager Chester waggener and also Fire
chief Chester Holly,stated that the Ladder Truck,transmission went out,but
was replaced in twenty-four hours at the cost of approximately $100.00.The
Maxim engine broke a engine block during annual service test,new engine has
been delivered and being installed and will require an mmergenq¶ordinance which
will be presented at the next council meeting when all costs are available.
REPORTON ACCOUNTINGMACHINE:City Manager Chester waggener,reported that the
Accounting Machine has been delivered and we are now waiting for forms to come.
Mr.Waggener also reported that our Fire Chief,Chester Rolly has been chosen
to teach fire fighting as a part of State Vocational Training and will be making
trips to other cities in that capacity.

RECESSED COUNCILMEETING APRIL 15,1960
The recessed meeting of April 12th,1960 was called to order by Mayor Law,
Councilmen present were:Franlk Holmes,Russell Stark,Harold Stadshaug,William
Hilderbrand,John Dietsen and Fred Krueger.
LETTER:from Ken Earl,Attorney,requesting the council re-consider the construction
of Low Rent Housing units was read,also presented petition for re-hearing,dated
7th day of April 1960 signed by Lloyd Cunningham and Ken Earl,together with signed
petitions,stated by Attorney Ken Earl to contain 1000 signatures.
LETTER:Trom John W.Baird addressed to Mr.Harvey Fitts,Executive Director of
the Housing Authority of Grant County,stating that approximately $8,000.00 has
been.expended for various services such as engineer's fees,architectis fees,
surveying,appraisals,site investigations and other miscellaneous items was read.
Mr.Earl stated he didn't expect the council to make up their minds this evening
but would like the council to move for re-consideration ánd appoint:A committee tocheckintothematterandcomebackwithre-consideration to the council.
Councilman Hilderbrand said he felt the problem had been well analyzed previously
and does not warrant re-consideration.
Councilman Dietzen stated that $8,000.00 had been expended by Grant County Housing
Authority,who will pay it?
Councilman Holmes feels need for low rent housing may change considerably in thenextseveralmonthsandananalysisnowmaynotbevalidthen,just be putting it
off for a couple of months.
Mr.Woodfin of 939 Kenne(7 P1,said advertisements in the paper showed there were
plenty of low rent housing in westlake.
Mr.Jack Zorich of $1h Grand Dr.felt there were a lot of vacant houses,feels
they should be rented first.
The motion by Hilderbrand seconded by Dietsen,council does nobre-consider Low
