PROPOSAL FROMBOAT CIUB,IAND ACQUISITION:Mr.Ronald Gill appeared before the I council in regards to purchasing a piece of land in Cascade Valley Park.Letter read and explained byMr.Gill.Mayúr suggested meeting between Park Board,Planning .Commission and City Council,to meet and discuss the acquisition of purchase of aportionofCaseadeValleyParksometimeduringtheweekofMay16th. MEEKERSHOWSDURING BOAT RACES AT CASCADEVALLEY PARK:On May 14th &19th council- man Holmes explained that Meekder Shows (Carnival)wished to operate in CascadeValleyPark,during the Koat races,also feels it will help draw a crowd to the races.The motion by Hilderbrand seconded by Krueger,to approve Carnival,providingCityAttorneyreadscontractandapprovesit.Motion carried with Stark voting No. APPOINTMENT 20 PARK BOARD:Letter from Mayor Law,requesting the council to appointMrs.Virginia Rorvik to fullfill the unexpired term of Wally Edwards was read.ThenotionbyStarksecondedbyHolmestheappointmentofMrs.Virginia Rorvik to theParkBoardtermtoexpireJune1,1962 be approved.Motion carried. AUTHORIZATIONTO CAIL FOR BIDS ON L.I.D.#12:Letter from Acting City Engineer,J.darth Anderson,requesting authorization to issue a call for bids for L.I.D.#12tobeopenedataregularcouncilmeetingonJune14thwasread.The motion byKruegersecondedbyHilderbrandtoauthorizetheActingCityEngineertocallforbidsonL.I.D.#12 to be opened at a regular meeting on June lkth,1960.Motion carried. PHILLIPS PETROLEUMPIAT:Letter from Acting City,Engineer J.Garth Anderson,rec-//2&ommending the connoil accept the final on Phillips Petroleum Plat #1 was read.ThenotionbyKruegersecondedbyDietzenEngineertsrecommendationbeaccepted.Motioncarried. sul REPORT ON L.I.D.#11 DAMAGECIAIM:by City Attorney John Calbom,stated that the 9JudgetsdecisioninfavoroftheCity,but as yet no final decision,hope to besettledinthenextweek.(Homer Basel claim.) REPORT ONWELL #8:Letter from Acting City Engineer J.Garth Anderson,stating tha "the Midland Drilling Co,was having difficulty at 140 feet,but this has been over-come without the necessity of reducing hole size and are curre fly drillling at170feet.
