The Council met in regular session,the meeting was called to order by Mayor Law,councilmen present were:Frank Holmes,Harold Stadshaug,William Hilderbrand,John Dietzen,councilman Russell Stark and Fred Erneger were absent.
The minutes of the previone meeting of August 9th,were approved by the council.

REQUEST FOR CITY PARTÏCIPATION IN WATERLINE EXTENSION:Letter from Acting CityEngineer,J.Uarth Anderson,stating that Mr.Amick is preparing to install a watermainalongE.Highway 10,to serve Lot L,Amick Addition,approximately h60 feet ofmain,and recommending that the Ci¶y participate in this extension,bearing thatportionofthecostthatexceedswhatitwouldcosttoinstalian8"main.ThemotionbyDietzensecondedbyHilderbrand,that the engineers,recommendation begrantedandMr.Amick be requested to call for bids on both 8 inch and 10 inchlines.Motion carried.
SCHEDULEOF CIVIC IMPROVERENTCOMMITTEEMEETINGS:was presented and explained byMayorLaw,would like the council to attend the meeting onWednesday,August 31st,and also meeting on Sept 6th,which will be the final meeting of the full committee=of 80,in which recommendations of the Executive ommittee will be acted on beforefinalreporttotheCityCouncil.

PRESENTATION,STATEWIDE CITY EMPLOYEES'RETIEMENTPLAN:was explained by jÜCityManager,Chester Waggener.Figures have been included in the 1961 budget.If approved by the Council and City Employees,will become effective Jan 1,1961.
REQUESTFROMCITY MANAGERTO ATTEND CONVERENCE:on October 16th thru October /0/320th,International City Managerrs in San Francisco.The motion by DietzensecondedbyHolmes,request be granted and a ceiling of $300.00 be placed.I Motion carried.
CASCADEAND McCOSHPARK PIANS:were presented by Jim Wright,showing 77 ,7
proposed preliminary plans of both parks.Reviewed.
