1962 10 23^ OCTOBER 23,1962 COUNCIL MEETING REGULAR SESSION 8:00 P.M.CITY HALL The Council met in regular session,the meeting was called to order by Mayor Dietzen.Councilmen present were:Gordon Ebbert,Otto Skaug,Harold Stadshaug, William Hilderbrand,Alex Law,Fred Krueger and John Dietzen. Minutes of the last meeting of October 9,1962 were approved by the council. BILLS:were audited by the council.Motion by Krueger seconded by Law, bills be paid and warrants drawn.Motion carried. RESOLUTION NO.278 SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 21 RE (LAND OWNERSHIP BY ALIEN'S) Petition presented requesting City Council support for Senate Joint Resolution 21 in the forthcoming November General Election.Resolution read.Motion by Hilderbrand seconded by Ebbert adopt Resolution No.278 endorsing SJR 21.Motion carried. AIRPORT FEE SCHEDULE-GASOLINE TAX Letter from City Manager,Chester Waggener,on Airport Fee Schedules, and Gasoline Tax read.Motion by Law,seconded by Stadshaug,Commercial operators be allowed to dispense gas out of their tanks for their Air craft but be charged two cents per gallon tax,same as any other private owner on the field.Motion carried. RESOLUTION NO.279 TRANSFER OF FUNDS-WATER &SEWER //)JA Letter from City Manager,Chester Waggener,on the transfer of funds read.Resolution read. Motion by Stadshaug seconded by Hilderbrand, Resolution No.279 be adopted.Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO.1+76 ADOPTING 1962 EDITION NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE Read for the second time by title only.Motion by Hilderbrand seconded by Stadshaug,Ordinance No.ii76 be adopted and published.M0tion carried. APPEAL FROM COMMUNITY STANDARDS Mr.Harvey Vernier,appeared before the council in regards to a variance yy for ten foot sidewalk on Ivy Street,in front of Medical Center.Reid Knauss,3017 w.Lakeside,Business Manger,was with Mr,Vernier.Motion by Stadshaug,that variance for a 10-foot sidewalk be granted,inasmuch as the Medical Center is a commercial development and is adjacent to a Commercial zone,and that extension for less than full length of block be allowed as a continuance of existing sidewalk,seconded by Skaug.Motion carried. 1199 OCOTBER 23,1962 00NT»D PROGRESS REPORT-CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS jk\^By J.Garth Anderson,Public Works Director.Projects all complete. ACCEPTANCE OF ENGINEERING BUILDING idfi Letter from J.Garth Anderson,Public Works Director,recommending /acceptance of work read.Motion by Krueger seconded by Ebbert,accept Engineers recommendation.Motion carried. REFERENDUM NO. 33 ll^U Letter from Mayor John F.Dietzen,on Referendum No.33,which allows I'cities and towns to use independent audits if they so desire,and recommending full support of Referendum No.33.Motion by Stadshaug seconded by Krueger endorsement of Referendum No.33 be endorsed.Motion carried.
