1963 05 28802 COUNCIL MEETING REGULAR SESSION - 8:00 P.M. -CITY HALL May 23,1963 The City Council met in regular session with the meeting callea to order by Mayor John Dietzen.Other councilmen present were:Gordon Ebbert,Otto Skaug,Harold Stadshaug,William Hilderbrand,and Forrest Hardin.Mr=Fred Krueger was absent. Minutes of the last Council meeting of May 14th were approved, as written,by the City Council. BILLS were audited by the Council.Motion by Stadshaug,seconded by Hilderbrand,that bills be paid and warrants drawn.Motion carried. Motion by Hilderbrand,seconded by Stadshaug,that the Jaycees be given permission to use the parking lane on 3rd Avenue from Division to Alder on June 15th for an automobile inspection lane and automobile accident display,with the understanding that if,in the judgment of Chief Bjork, a traffic hazard is being created,the inspection be moved around the corner cnto Alder Street.Motion carried. Motion by Hilderbrand,seconded by Ebbert,that the 1st reading- be accepted,the second reading be waived,and that Ordinance No,494 be adopted.Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO.495 -AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE RE:CONSERVATION & RECLAMATION ZONE -2ND READING "/Q: Ordinance No.495,amending Ordinance No.433 entitled "The Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance of the City of Moses Lake, Washington"by placing zoning controls over that body of water known as Moses Lake within the "CR"conservation and reclamation zcne was read by name only.Also reed was a letter from ^ames Wright,Building and Planning Director recommending the adoption of bhe amendment. Mr.Wright recommended that Subsection 3 of Section 175.10 of Ordinance No.433 by repealed.He pointed out that this could restrict the City by giving control to other Public Agencies. Motion by Hardin,seconded by Hilderbrand,that Subsection 3 of Section 175010 of Ordinance No. 433 he repealed,that the 2nd reading be accepted,and that Ordinance No.495 by adopted. Motion carried. Letter read from City Manager,Chester L.Waggener requesting authorization to proceed with the Sprinkler System for park strip,electrical services to Rotary kitchen,sidewalks to swimming pool and entrance signs,and shrubbery plantings and additional landscaping,requesting informal bids or quotations on all other than landscaping and shrubbery which will be accomplished by City crews this fall and next spring. W.Ml.This property was originally acquired for airport purposes.The.proposed site has since been abandoned and the remaining property sold.
