The council met in regular session,the meet.ing tas called to order by Mayor Boyle,councilmen present were:John Dietzen,Frank Holmes,William Hilderbrand,RussellStark,Fred Kraeger and Merle West.
The minutes of theCprevious meeting of Nov 26th,were read,stand approved as corrected(Holmes voting No on Union Letter.)
Bills were read.The motion by Dietzen seconded by Hilderbrand bills be paid and
warrants drawn.Motion carried.

GASARBITRATION:City attorney John Calbom gave report on the arbitration,heldDec3,h,and S†,b.Meeting adjourned until Dec 16th,but,case will not be completedbytheendoftheweekasthecontractorhasnotcompletedhiscase.Chairman ofthearbitrationboardAttorneyWirstastatedthatcostofthearbit,ration boarditselfwasinthevincinityof900to$1,000.00 dollars a day and such cost,eventua-11y to be charged in accordance with the boards legal prorogative.
FINALHEARINGON L.I.D.#11:City Engineer Chet Waggener requested final hearingdateonL.I.D.#11 for the £irst regular council meeting in January.The motion byStarksecondedbyHolmesfinalhearingdateforL.I.D.#11 be set for January 13th1969at8:P.H.Motion carried.
CIVILIAN DEFENSE:report was given by George Dougherty,director in Grant County,and account,ing of how the money given to the Civil Defense is used.
SPEED LIMIT ALDER STREET:Letter from †,he City Engineer and Police chief,request-ing that the speed linik alóngcA18er Street between Broadway and Valley Road beiincreasedt.o 35 miles per hour.The motion by Hilderbrand seconded by Holmes speedlimitbe35milerperhourasrequested.Motion carried.
1959 BUSINESS LICENSES:Proposed amendment to Ordinance No.141 with a penaltyschedulewasread.Council feel that penalties are not strict enough.The motionbyHolmessecondedbyKruegerthatOrdinanceNo.372 amendment,to Ordinance No.lklbeadopted,only that Penalty charges be changed to 10,20,30,LO and 50%.HolmesWest,Krueger,Dietsen for Stark and Hilderbrand against.Motion carried.
ADMISSION TAX:The Mayor explained a problem the city haa concerning delinquentadmissiontaxfromoneo£the local theatres,feels matter should be turned overtothecityattorneyforlegalaction.The motion by Holmes seconded by Stark toturnthematterovertot,he city attorney to take the necessary legal action tocollectthebackadmissiontaxfromtheCherokeeTheatres.Motion carried.
APPROVALOF CASCADEPARKLEASE:L etter from the Natural Resources Department was

read.The mot,ion by Stark seconded by Holmes that lease be signed and payment be
authorised.Motion carried.
PETITION TO VACATETHEMEDICAL CENTER#1 PLAT:was read.The motion by Kraeger
seconded by Ëilderbrand matter of petition be referred to the city att,orney and
Dity engineer for study and report back at next connoil meeting Dec 23rd.Motion car.
