The Council met in regular session,the meeting was called to order by Mayor Boyle,
councilmen present were:Frank Holmes,Russell Stark,Wm.Hilderbrand,John Dietzen,Fred Krueger and Alex Law.
The minutes of the previous meeting of March loth were read,approved as corrected.
Minutes of the recessed meeting of March 13th were read,stand approved as read.
Bills were read.The motion byHohnes seconded byDietzen bills be paid and warrantsdrawn.Motion carried.

expired term of Dr.Larson on the Library Board was read.The motion by Krueger
seconded by Holmes to accept the Mayor's recommendation.Motion carried.

AIRPORT COMMITTEEREPORT:was given by councilman Krueger,stated that Mr.Holmes,Mr.Waggener and Xrueger had a meeting with members of the N.P.in Seattle and feel themeetingwassatisfactoryanddetailsarebeingworkedoutslowly.
1968 EDITION TO THE UNIFORMBUILDING CODE:was presented to the council,reported,onbybuildingInspectorJimWright.The motion by Law seconded by Stark the Building
Code Ordinance be read by title only.Motion carried.The motion by Stark secondedbyDietsenBldgCodeOrdinancebetabledforfurtherstudyuntilnextcouncilmeeting.
Motion carried.
REQUESTFOR STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS:was explained by the city administrator Chester
Waggener.The motion by Holmes seconded by Stark Mr.Waggener be authorized to enter
into agreement with the P.U.D.the program as outlined.Motion carried.
PROPOSED STREET ADDRESSING SYSTEM:was explained by assistant engineer Garth Anderson.
He explained that the present street numbering gystem in some areas is not uniform,
and would like a committee appointed and someone from the P.U.D.,Telephone,Fire Dept,
Planning Commission,city council,Postmater and such to work on it.The motion by
Stark seconded by Hilderbrand the Mayor appoint a connittee of citizens applicable tocityorganizingtomakeastudyand.recommend to the council regarding any needed
street addressing.Motion carried.
SOAP BOX DERBY•
IETTER FROMMR.R.M.KELLEY FROM THE JR.CHAMBEROF COMMERCE:requesting use of a city
street also permission to block it off,for a soap box derby was read.The motion by
Hilderbrand seconded by Stark request to use city street be granted and Fire Dept be
notified so they can close the street and traffic can be handled safely.Motion carried.
FUTURE GROWTHAND DEVELOPMENTOF THE CITY:Letter from Mr.Gib Kaynor president of
the Chamber of Commerce in regards to future growth and development of the City wasread.Mr.Kaynor was present and explained the chamber ideas.The motion by Stark
seconded by Dietsen that one council member serve with the Chambers civic committee.
Motion carried.
ADMISSION TAI REPORT:Letter from Committee was read,recommending that the request
from John Lee of the Columbia Basin Theatres for removal of the Admission Tax onTheatresbedenied.The motion by Law seconded by Holmes recommendation of the committee
for removal of admission tax be denied.Motion carried with Hilderbrand voting No.
RESOLUTIONNO.167:Issuance of Bonde of L.I.D.No.11 was read.The motion by Stark
seconded by Ëolmes Resolution No.187 be adopted.Motion carried.
REQUEST FOR BIDS ON INSURANCE CASUALTYPOLICIES:was explained by Ray McGraw.The
