REQUEST POR BID CALL ON STREET REPAIRS:was presented by Assistant Engineer,Garth AndersonwouldliketocallforbidsonthesealingofDivisionfrom7thtoHillAveandre-sur-facing Alley between 3rd and Broadway,Alder to Dogwood.Approximate cost $7,100.00.The motion by West seconded by Law that request to call for bids for street repairs begranted.Motion carried. REPORT ON STREET REPAIR ONWESTBROAIWAY:was given by Assistant Engineer,Garth Andersobstatedjobhadbeencompletedandfelttheyhaddoneagoodjob. REQUESTFOR WAIVEROF PENALTIESIN L.I.D.#6:Letter from Jessica Longston,requestingthecounciltocancelthepenaltieswhichisassessedonnineofherlotsonDivision,if she pays the L.I.D.'s and interest in full was read.The motion by Hilderbrand secon-ded byDietsen request be denied as City Ordinance does not provide for waiver.Motion car. DISPOSAL OF RESUE DUCK:Letter from City Administrator ChesterWaggener,requestingauthorizationfordisposalof1945G.M.C.Amphibious Duck.Stated that shop foreman WesMaslenandFireChiefRollytiredtopurchasepartstorepairitandfoundcostmorethanitsworthandwouldbemoreadvisabletopurchaseanotheroneoutofsufplus.The motionbyKruegersecondedbyHilderbrandrequestfordisposalof1945G.M.C.Amphibious Duck betabled,with request City Administrator check possibility of salvage.Motion carried. REPORT ON HI-WAY LANDSCAPING:was given by City Administrator Chester Waggener,statedtheywerebeautifyingbothentrancestothecity,and plan to spend up to $16,000 thisyearwithoutcallingforbids. WESTVIEW TRACTS UTILITIES:Letter from City Administrator in regards to the remainderofutilitiesforthisplatandrecommendationsforthebudgetforthenextfouryears wasreadandexplainedbyMr.Waggener.The motion by West seconded by Law,that Mr.Waggenerre letter of policy of July 13th,1999 be approved.Motion carried.Mr.John Ahlers appeared before the council in regards to this plat and to work he had one on the plans that had been started by Gray &Osborne and Mr.Ahlers &Hine had completed..Had notheen paid for them and felt they should.The motion by Krueger seconded by West matter of Ahlers &Hine be reviewed by City Administrator Chester Waggener and Assistant Engineer 3arth Anderson and report back.Motion carried with Law voting No. THOREN&PRICE ADDITION:Minutes of the Planning Commission of July 9,1999 accepting the final plat and to refer it to the City Council was read.The motion by Holmes seconded by Krueger that Thoren &Price Plat be accepted.Motion carried. MONTLAKEEAST ADDITION NO.1 AND 2 UTILITIES:Letter from Assistant Engineer Garth Anderson stating that the water and sewer lineseand streets have been completed in accordance with city standards and recommends acceptance of these improvements.The Motion byWest seconded by Law utilities in Montlake Addition Nos.1 and 2 be accepted. Motion carried. REQUEST TO EMPLOYARCHITECT FOR FOLICE BUILDING ADDITION:explained by City Administrator Chester Waggener,that police department needs more space,and would 10ke authorization to employ architect to submit plana.Mayor requested City Attorney to write a letter as to legality in using money from the bond fund to make addition to Police building. The motion by Krueger seconded by Hildefbrand,that authorization be granted to hire architect to plan addition to city jail within scope of G.O.B.#h improvements to public safety building and City Hall.Motion carried. Review of City Codes was explained by City Administrator Chester Waggener,correcting ordinance and going thru code book and bringing them up to date. Meeting adjonnred 10:30 P.g.
