LOren Lambert registered a complaint regarding the condition of
the garbage dump.He was advised that the city had no control
over the property,but was permitted to use the land at the
Northern Pacific Railroad pleasure.
A letter was read from the Ministers of the City requesting therepealofOrdinance#lbl,relating to Pinballs.The Clerk wasinstructedtoacknowledgetheletter.A motion by Councilman
Goodrich 2nd by Gillett was made and carried to take the letter
under advisement.
The Recommendati-n of the Planning Council to have 4th streeto
opened from Dogwood thcough the South line of the High School
property to Rose Was acted on•Mr.Bennett advised the Council
that the sdool board received the proposition favorably.provided
the City pay all expenses connected with the project.A motion
was made by Councilman Shaddock Sucd by Goodrich to opennegociationswiththeSchoolBoardtótacquiretheright of way,
Joe Middleton presented a plat of an area än tPeninsula Drive
for the Caúcilis consideration.A motion by Thoren 2nd by Lowe
was made and carried to accept the plat and authorise the Mayor &
Clerk to sign subject to legal opinion regarding grading of
streets.
Guy Giersdorf presented a petition from owners of the Batèryamachard
area outside the ciþy limits ,requesting that some means be adopted
to furnish water ,with a description of th area involved.
Councilman Shoddock advised them that the city would have to have
rights of way and a gauranteed sum to pay for a survey.
The present system of billing water and sewr users was brought up
and a change suggested allowing the owner to be billed for all
services where more than one service is hooked to one meter.This
change would apþly-tär businets hóàsäsdþrín6&þally as the present
system of billing could not be used to advantage with the incoming
posting machine.
Motion by Councilman Shaddock Snd by Goodrich to adopt the proposed
change,that users be notified through the press,or
.Motion carried.
The matter of the Treasurer securing a desk was again discussed,
and the incoming Treasurer authorised to get one.
Gordon Ebbert ,Civil Air Patrol,was granted a site for a building
near the Scout Building ,provided that the building wald be moved
upon due notice if the City required the land.Motion by Goodrich 2nd
by Lowe.Motion Carried
Geo Dougherty Furnished the Council with thelist of changes of names
City stre ets.On motion of Lowe Sud by Goodrich to accept change
of names.Carried.
Ordinance #156,Prisioner labor was read the first time,the rules
suspended to read the second time and read for the 3d time by title
only and ordered pubplished by motion of Councilman Goodrich 2nd by
Gillett.
