-The City Council met in regular session January 8,19¶2.The
meeting was called to order by Mayor McCosh.Council memberspresentwereR.E.Thoren,H.W.Gillette,Geo.Allison,J.R.Starr,0.C.Shadduck and 0.D.Goodrich.
The motion made by Starr and seconded by Thoren,.carried,approvingtheappointmentbyMayorMcCoshofMarjorieDudleyforCityClerk.I -The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with thefollowingcorrection:"theclerk was authorized to issue bidsforoneand/or two 19¶l and /or 19¶2 cars".The following bills

An application wqs submitted by the Grant Country PUD for a guy-wire
-adjacent to the city water tank.The motion made by Gillette to
reject the application,died for lack of a second.The motion made
by Starr,seconded by Goodrich carried,that the application be
signed upon approval of the park superintendent,and that the ease-
ment be for the maintenance of the guy-wire and pole line only•
Five bids were opened for supplying gasoline and fuel oil.Bids
submitted were:Phillip?s Petroleum,Regular gasoline 22.2¢Ethyl
24.2¢Fuel oil,13.6¢.Shell 011 Co,Regular gasoline-23.?¢,
Ethyl 25.7¢,Fuel oil 14.4¢.Richfield,Regular gasoline 23,7¢,
Ethyl 26.7¢,Fuel oil 14.4¢.Union 011,Regular gasoline 22.7¢,
Ethyl 25.2¢,Fuel oil 13.3¢.Anderson and Moe,Regular gasoline
24.9¢,Ethyl 26.9,Fuel oil 13.8¢.The bid of Phillips Petroleum
was accepted by the motion of Goodrich,seconded by Thoren.The
Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute the contract.
An application submitted by Elmer Roush and Edwards Crans to operate
a taxi-cab business,was referred back to the applicants for proper
presentation.
The motion made by Shadduck,seconded by Seene&&man Goodrich,-
carried,instructing the city attorney to draw up a new re,solution
lowering the number of licensed cabs from ¶to 3.
The motion made by Starr seconded by Shadduck,carried,appointing
Ed Penhallick Police Judge to fill the term to June 19¶3.
Following a discussion by the mayor and councilmen,it was decided
-that Hall and Associates be instructed to proceed with the engineering
-and specifications for the Peninsula water addition to the present
Moses Lake water system.
The motion made by Allison,seconded by Starr,carried,authorizeing
Hall and Associates to proceed with the sealing of Moses Lake
Well #2.
The motion made by Thoren,seconded by Gillette carried,instructing
Hall and Associates to proceed with the engineering and specifications
for the water and sewer project on Kiefer Drive in the Lakeview
Terrace Addition.
The motion made by Gillette seconded by Goodrich,carried,approving
buying the paint for the City Hall and to thank the city employees
for doing the painting.
The motion made by Starr seconded by Goodrich,carried,authorizing
Hall and Associates to make any necessary changes to complete
the sewer lift station in Knolls Vista.
A talk was given by Floyd Jenning of the Assn.of Wash.Cities
discussing Moses Lakes'planning and zoning needs.
