Aus;ust 29th Continued. -M i A letter from Eill Yadman of Wm.P.Karper &Son à 00,was read in which he suggested that as long as the council had given aporoval to invest g†| L.I.D.Guarantee money in-Government bonds,he thought it might be wise if the money were invested in proper hi2;her earning securities.The council was interested and advised that a letter te written to ill Vadman asking him to come to a council meeting at his earliest convenience to discu- ss the matter. Report on Fire Eydrant Inspection was read and discussed,Eurress moved that Eeath he commended for his good work,and that a ecoy of the report be sent to Gray &Osborne. The weed growth at Knolls Vista Corner and Stratford Road was brought to the attention of the Council as it has been considered a hazard to visibility.Steps have already been taken to get rid of the weeds. Discussion as to what is to be done with funds derived from the park fee of the new subdivision ordinance.Motion by urress seconded by Schuster that it be tabled until the City Council can root with the Flanning Commission for discussion. The sale of Reaugh Park was considered,motion by Law and Allison that it be tiblad to be taken up at the Septe ter ist meeting. Merle (Windy)Nest trought in the Crestling Addition plat,Motion by Law and seconded by Burress,passed,recommending that it te accepted subject to the Elenning cæmaission approval,erö.subject to Kenison further examining the bond. Dave Trolson trought up discussion on side walk and curb grades.He has had recuests to give grades according to ordinance the city had adopted-in the past.Trolson asked the question,does the property owner have to-get an engineer to establish grades or does the city set them? ouncil suggested the people be told to hold off on sidewalks and ourts until a true grade can te gi-en by City e 3ineer,and they further suggested that Gray and Osborne be contacted by phone to establish street .grades on Feirbanks Avenue.01erk instructed to contact Larry Mathews in the morning to see if he had the grades in the took before she calls Gray and Osborne. Jim Jippins ,street ßept,reports gutter trouble adjacent to public parking lots from people driving over sidewalks.Motion by Burress,. second.ed by Law,passed,that it be referred to Police Dept,and that they notify the property owners of the issue. Eob Burke from United Fest Control Dompany talked to the Council on the advisibility of fog spreying.The Council asked that the clerk write the Umatilla Council regarding rest Uontrol Dist:rict thåt has been formad in that area.
