PACIFIC TELEPHONE REEMIT:Letter read from elephone Co,and from City
Engineer stating that the proposed prints are in accordence with
alignment accepted by their dept.Koved by Henry seconded by Kolmes
that the City of Moses Lake grant the Pacific Telephone Co,the right
to construct the underground conduit system as shown on the erints
dated 6-1 -97.Motion carried.
INVENTMENT OF CITY FUNDS:explained by Mr.nector.-Moved by West and
seconded by dones to autoorize City treasurer and city supervisor to
invest these funds as they are available in the best interesb bearing
paper that they can buy,in accordance with the laws of the Ltate of
Washington..Motion carried.
HOUSING PROJECT:street repair reported on by Krueger.Moved by
Krueger and seconded by dones to repair certain portions of the streets
in the housing project.Motion carried with Law voting No.
FIRE CHIEF APPOINTMENT:Moved by West and seconded by Kraeger to budget
for e full time fire chief as of dan 1,1998.Motion carried.Otùdy
to be made on feasibility of public safety dept.Moved by Lew and
seconded by Holmes to extend Leonard Cooks temporary appointment until

period of three years and that if the trade with Penhallurtok is

ALDER STREET FILL 2LECTION DATE:Letter read from Don Grey stating
progress recort on work completed on the fill.Moved by Law and
seconded by Henry to hold the Alder atreet fill election on July 23,1997
along witi the school election.Motion carried.Moved by Krueger-
and -seconded by Law that we ask for a bond issue approving the -laning
of Alder Street fill and necessary approaches and channelizations on
