The council met in regular session,the meeting was called to order by Mayor Boyle,councilmen present were:Wm.Hilderbrand,Fred Krueger,John Dietzen,Alex Law andFrankHolmes.The minutes of the previous meeting of Oct 14th were read,stand approved
as read.

VALLEY&STRAFFORDROADTRAFFIC CONTROL:reported on by City engineer,as yet nothing
has been done,engineers recommendation that no action be taken until next spring to
cheolk on the traffic fler and also to check with the State Hi-Way and see what can be
done.
BID REPORTS PRESENTED BY COMMITTEE:with the following recommendations:TRENCHERFOR -1AS DEPT:committee recommended that we accept the bid of Snead Tractor for $1,496.63
councilman Holmes felt it would not serve adequately through rocky soil conditions.
The motion by Dietzen seconded by Hilderbrand to purchase the Trencher for the gas
Dept.-Motion carried with Holmes opposed.1958 FORD DUET TKUCK:Committees recommenda
tion to accept the low bid of Moses Lake Ford for $&,097.16.Motion carried.DELUGE
GUN.The motion by Law seconded by Dietzen to accept the low bid of L.N.Curtis of
$6ÿ§.79.Motion carried.1999 DARFOR POLÍDE DEPT.The motion by Holmes seconded by
Krueger to accept the bid of Moses Lake Ford for a straight purchase for $2,415.83
and turn the 1996 Ford over to the Fire Dept for the Fire Chief.Motion carried.
RESOLUTÏ0N NO.17&ON L.I.D.#11:was read,The motion by Holmes seconded by Law
Resolution No.174 be adopted.Motion carried.
Mr.Lloyd Cunningham appeared before the council in regards to presenting a resolution
to the State HiàTay Commission reouesting an "off"to the lower part of the Peninsula
at the point af the Moses Lake Turn-off on the by-pass at the west end of Moses Lake.
The motion by Hilderbrand seconded by Holmes the matter of the "off"on Lakeshore Dr.
be referred to the Street committee gor study along with the chamber of commerce.
Motion carried.
STATE HI-WAY AGREEMENT:returning that portion of the HiàTay to the tity was read.
City engintier stated that he had no knowledge of this.The motion by Law seconded
by Krueger matter be tabled until the next council meeting.Motion carried.
CITY WGINEER CHETWAGGENERPRESENTED A REQUEST TO HAVEOURWATER SYSTEMANALIZED:
At Washington State Dollege,eevaluating our present system of suþply,It would re-
auire one man going to W.S.O.for three to five days to assist,cost be about $1,000.
Engineer would like to write to W.S.C.and set a date as soon as possible.The motion
by Dietzen seconded by Law authorization be granted.Motion carried.
CIVIL SERVICE:Letter fromMr.Greenwood of the Civil LService Commission regnestine
that RiëEiP2EÏJ Simmons,fire marshall be given the additional title of Fire Captain
was read,also a letter from Fire Chief Rolly,stating there was a need for additional
help in the fire dept.The motion by Krueger seconded by Hilderbrand,Mr.Richard
Si mons receive this appointment as requested by Civil Service Commission and Fire
Chief Rolly.Motion carried.
19¾6 STUDEBAKER:Letter from Mayor Boyle requesting that a 1946 Studebaker be scrapped
was read.The motion by Dietzen seconded by Krueger to accept bid of Moses Lake Iron
&Metal for $96.00.Motion carried.
APPLICATION FOR MAIN EKTENSION FOR NATURALGAS:to the Giersdorf Lodge was read.The
motion by Krueger seconded by Hilderbrand request be denied.Motion carried.
