A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHINGTHE BILLING TO BE IMPOSED AGAINST PEDRO AND MARIA
SANCHEZAS THE OWNERS OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY UPON WHICH THE CITY CAUSED
ABATEMENT OF A NUISANCE TO BE PERFORMED AFTER A FAILURE OF THE PROPERTY
OWNER TO ABATE THE SAME.
RECITALS:
1.Real Property Locationand Ownership.The records of Grant County show that Pedro and Maria
Sanchez are the owners of property within the city limits located at 1170Grand.The parcel number of
this property is 111956000.Pedro and Maria Sanchezwas provided notice ofa hearing held before the
City Council on July 8,2014,toconsider theallegations of theCode Enforcement Officer that a nuisance
requiring abatement existed on property ownedbyPedro and Maria Sanchez.
2. On July 8, 2014the City Council conducted a hearing to determine if a nuisance existed onthe property
at 1170 Grand. Atthe conclusion of that hearing, the City Council adopted Resolution No.3454 which
provided a nuisanceexisted onthe property at 1170 Grand,thattheownerhad fifteen (15)daystoabate
such nuisance and ifthe nuisance was not abated within fifteen (15) days ofadoption ofthat resolution,
the City would cause the nuisancetobe abated and the costs ofthatabatement to be charged against
the property owner.
3. The nuisance identified in Resolution No.3454 was not abated by the property owner within fifteen (15)
days ofthe adoption of that resolution. On September 10, 2014 the City caused the nuisance identified
to be abated through the use of contracted and/or City labor and equipment.
RESOLVED:
1.The costs to the City to abate the nuisance identified in Resolution 3454 on the property at 1170 Grand
are set forth below.Those costs are derived from the attached documentswhich detail the costs incurred.
2.The costs to be recovered from Pedro and Maria Sanchez are:
City labor and equipment costs $0.00
Contracted labor and equipment (company)$150.00
Tax 11.85
Total $161.85
3.This charge is certified by the City Council as due and owing the City.This charge shall be forwarded in
writing to Pedro and Maria Sanchez for payment.If payment is not received within thirty (30)days of
submittal,the same shall be submitted for collection with other unpaid billings of the City and collected
or reduced to judgment on the rolls of Grant County Clerk.
