3489RESOLUTION NO.3489
A RESOLUTION REGARDING THE GRANT COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS,
ANNEXATION INTO THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE, AND CITY OF MOSES
LAKE PROVIDED SEWER SERVICE
RECITALS:
1.There are no City codes or ordinances pertaining to land zoned "Public"that would restrict any
livestock or animal activities, nor have there ever been any. If the fairgrounds were annexed
into the City of Moses Lake, the land most likely would be zoned "Public".
2. No current or past City Council member, to the City Council's knowledge, has ever taken a
position to restrict or prohibit traditional fair animal activities.
RESOLVED:
1. Any future City of Moses Lake ordinance or Municipal Code revision that would restrict or
prohibit traditional animal activities on the Grant County Fairgrounds will be submitted to the
County Commissioners for review and comment before being considered by the Moses Lake
City Council.
2.The Moses Lake City Council is willing, and has proposed in the past,to pay a substantial fee
to the County ifany future City Council passed a City of Moses Lake ordinance or Municipal
Code revision that restricted or prohibited traditional animal activities at the Grant County
^—-'Fairgrounds.Substantial fee means five million dollars ($5,000,000).
Adopted by the City Council on January 13,2015.
