RESOLUTION NO.2157
A RESOLUTION DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO CONSTRUCT WELL #18
Recitals:
1.City Well #5 was abandoned in 1998 since it was not feasible to isolate
either the Wanapum or Grand Rhonde zone as required by WSDOE.
2.City Well #13 was abandoned in 1998 due to low water production.
3.The Wheeler pressure zone and the Lakeview Terrace zone do not have any
back up wells in the event that one or more of the existing wells fail.
A.The industries in the Wheeler pressure zone would not be able to
stay in operation.
B.The residents in the Lakeview Terrace pressure zone would be
required to ration water.
Resolved:
1.The City Council declares that it is an emergency to construct an
additional well,Well #18,to supply water to the Wheeler and Lakeview
pressure zones as quickly as possible.
