ARESOLUTION DECLARINGCITYOWNED PROPERTYASSURPLUS ANDAUTHORIZINGITSSALEANDAUTHORIZINGSALEATPUBLICAUCTIONOFUNCLAIMEDPROPERTYINTHEPOSSESSIONOFTHEPOLICEDEPARTMENT
RECITALS:
0 1.The Cityof Moses Lake,Washington owns certain personal property,a listofwhich is on file withtheCityClerk.
2.The propertyis not needed by the city for theproperand efficient functioning of the city,
3.The various citydepartments willhave an opportunityto reclaim any items declared surplus to beusedinthatdepartment
4.The Police Departmentof the CityofMoses Lake possesses certain lost or unclaimed property,a listofwhichisonfilewiththeCityClerk.
5.The unclaimedproperty in thepossession of the Police Department can be disposed of at a publicauctionasauthorizedbyRCW63.32.
6.A public auctionconductedby allgovernment agencies inthe area is being held at theGrant County
Fairgrounds on September 7,2002.
RESOLVED:
1.The CityCouncil oftheCityof Moses Lake,Washington declares thatthepersonal propertyownedbytheCityofMosesLakeissurplusandshouldbesoldatpublicauctionattheGrantCountyFairgroundsonSeptember7,2002.
2.Further,thatthe unclaimed propertyinthepossession ofthe Police Department ofthe CityofMosesLakeshallbesoldatpublicauction;destroyed at thedirection of the Police Chiefif,in his discretion,he determines an item has no substantial commercial value or theprobable cost qfsale exceeds thevalueoftheproperty;or retained for use in the Police Department
