ARESOLUTION DECLARINGCITY OWNED PROPERTY AS SURPLUS ANDAUTHORIZINGITSSALEANDAUTHORIZINGSALEATPUBLICAUCTIONOFUNCLAIMEDPROPERTYINTHEPOSSESSIONOFTHEPOLICEDEPARTMENT
RECITALS:
L The Cityof Moses Lake,Washington owns certain personal property,a list of which is on filewiththeCityClerk.
2.The property is not needed by the city for the proper and efficient functioning ofthecity.
3.The various citydepartments willhave an opportunity toreclaim any items declared surplus to be
used in that department.
4.The Police Department of the City of Moses Lake possesses certain lost or unclaimed property,alistofwhichisonfilewiththeCityClerk.
5.The unclaimed property inthepossession of the Police Department can be disposed of at a public
auction as authorizedby RCW 63.32,
6.Apublic auction conducted by allgovernmentagencies inthearea is being held at theGrant County
Fairgrounds on September 10,2005.
RESOLVED:
L The CityCouncil of the CityofMoses Lake,Washington declares thatthepersonal property owned
by the City of Moses Lake is surplus and should be sold at public auction at the Grant CountyFairgroundsonSeptember10,2005.
2.Any property referred toinrecital Number one (1)can be sold to any public agency inGrant County
at a negotiated price and removedfrom the auction list.
O 3.Further,thattheunclaimed property inthe possession ofthe Police Department oftheCityof Moses
Lake shall be sold at public auction;destroyed at thedirection ofthePolice Chief if,inhis discretion,
he determines an item has no substantial commercial value orthe probable cost of sale exceeds thevalueoftheproperty;or retained for use in the Police Department.
