Cone, Finance Director RESOLUTION NO. 2784 A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE GRANT COUNTY ALL-HAZARDS MITIGATION PLAN AS THE OFFICIAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF MOSES LAKE, WASHINGTON RECITALS: 1.The City of Moses Lake recognizes the threat that natural and technological hazards pose to people and property within our community. 2.Undertaking hazard mitigation actions will reduce the potential risks to people and property from future hazard occurrences. 3.The Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 and the Federal Emergency Management Agency require communities to adopt a hazard mitigation plan in order to be eligible for pre-disaster and post-disaster federal mitigation funding. 4.The City of Moses Lake has developed initiatives and is recommending incorporation and adoption of these elements as a participant in the hazard mitigation plan. 5.The Grant County All-Hazards Mitigation Plan is a general record of the community's potential risks, hazards, and commitment to reducing the long-term consequences of natural and technological hazards. The plan outlines mitigation goals and objective and risk reduction strategies. RESOLVED: • 1. The Grant County All-Hazards Mitigation Plan is approved in its entirety, incorporating both local and multi-jurisdictional elements. 2.The City of Moses Lake will seek available funding opportunities for implementation of the proposed mitigation actions designated therein, and will, upon receipt of such funding or other necessary resources, seek to implement the actions within Grant County All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. 3.The City of Moses Lake will continue to participate in the multi-jurisdictional mitigation planning process, including reporting of progress as required by the Washington State Military Department Mitigation Division and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. 4.This resolution is in effect immediately upon the Grant County All Hazards Mitigation Plan's approval by Washington State and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
