CoveM RESOLUTION NO. 2945 • A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE GRANT COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE, OCTOBER 2007 RECITALS: 1.The Washington State Legislature, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 70.95 RC, enacted legislation, the purpose of which is to establish a comprehensive state-wide program for solid waste handling, and solid waste recovery and/or recycling which will prevent land, air, and water pollution and conserve the natural, economic, and energy resource of this state. 2.Pursuant to chapter 70.95 RCW, the Grant County Solid Waste Advisory Committee and Grant County Solid Waste staff have revised the Grant County Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan. 3.The City of Moses Lake has participated in the development of the Solid Waste Management Plan by authorizing Grant County to prepare a plan for the City of Moses Lake for inclusion in the Comprehen- sive Solid Waste Management Plan. 4.The 2007 revision of the Grant County Solid Waste Management Plan reasonably conforms to the desires of the City of Moses Lake for solid waste management. 5.Pursuant to the provision of RCW 70.95 and the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Interlocal Agreement between the cities and Grant County, the governmental entities have already agreed among themselves by actions of the governing authorities of the respective parties that there should be only one solid waste management plan to encompass the entirety of Grant County. RESOLVED: 1. The City of Moses Lake does hereby approve and adopt the 2007 revision of the Grant County Solid Waste Management Plan as a planning guide for solid waste handling. Ronald R.
