A RESOLUTION ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING THE 1991 MOSES LAKE
SCHOOL DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL BOND ISSUE
RECITALS:
1. Moses Lake School District #161 is placingbefore the District's voters a bond election on Tuesday,
March 12,1991.
t )2. The proposed bond issue is for $22.5 million which will be used to expand and renovate Moses Lake
^-^High School.
3. The bonds will be repaidover a periodof 20 years. The estimated collection rate is $2.30 per
$1,000 of assessed valuation.
4. The expansion and renovation of Moses Lake High School will modernize the facility,update class
rooms to accommodate the increasing use of technology in education, improve the classroom
environment so that itwill be more conducive to quality learning,renovate the library so that it will
provide students with up-to-date access to information,add energy saving components which will
resultin reductions in energy consumption and monetary savings.All in all,the modernization will
feature facility improvements designed to improvethe student's education and preparethe District's
children to be successful.
5. Upto date educational facilities are important and integral to the city's economic growth.Educa
tional facilities and programs are important to not onlythe District's residentsbut also any business,
company,or industry looking to locate to the area. Without updated educational facilities the contin
ued economic element and prosperity of the city may be diminished.
RESOLVED:
1. The Moses Lake City Council supports andendorsesthe 1991 Moses Lake School District High
School Bond Issue.
2. The Moses LakeCity Council urges the voters of the District to vote in favor of the Issuance of the
i i bonds in order to expand and renovate Moses Lake High School.
